THE BEST ALBUM OF ALL-TIME

When I first received the new album from Fuel in late June, I was really hesitant to hear the sound. One listen through the album and I told myself "Whoa – this is something special." By the end of the first day, listening to the album around three times, I told myself "This is the best album in 10 years since the first Third Eye Blind album."  Well, after another week went by, I'm not afraid to stand my ground and say that Angels and Devils, the new album by Fuel, is the BEST ALBUM OF ALL-TIME.

The album is stacked with five-star tracks, more than any other non-Greatest Hits album I have ever heard. This is by far the best work of Carl Bell, Fuel song writer and guitarist. Just starting from the opening track "Gone", to "I Should Have Told You", "Forever", the band's first single off the album "Wasted Time", to my new all-time favorite song "Leave the Memories Alone", all the way to the end of the album with new frontman Toryn Green's song "Halos of the Sun", the album is the best album ever put together.

When I asked Toryn about the meaning of the album title, he told me that it signified "the duality that appears in people's nature at the time of significant change." Knowing that and going back through and listening to the album again made me look at the album even deeper and made me appreciate the masterpiece even more.

For any of you wondering about the "sound of Fuel"? I was a big Brett Scallions fan, but Toryn's vocal range is wider and his vocals just sound better than Brett's ever were. Carl has some amazing guitar rifts and pulls out some sweet new sounds on various tracks. Bassist Jeff Abercrombie and new drummer Tommy Stewart add their own perfect touch to the album. The boys even got Tommy Lee to do some drum tracks for their single "Wasted Time". Tommy Lee! If the best drummer in the business wants to work with you, you know you have something special.

I've said in the past "pick up this album" or "go download it from iTunes." Well, hear me on this one: go out and buy the album RIGHT NOW! Or order it online at Amazon. Pick up copies for your friend's or as a gift for someone. This will be an album you are telling your kids about (if you already have kids, turn them on to it…otherwise, when you have kids someday, this is something you will pass down to them.) Everyone's heard of the expression "the CD won't come out of the CD player in your car because you like it so much." I've never had that happen to me before – until now. I'm speaking from personal experience when I'm telling you to get multiple copies because one of them won't ever come out of the CD player in your car! Fuel's Angels and Devils is the best album of all-time and you need to have it. Now go get the album and ROCK ANGELS AND DEVILS!
