After hearing the song "If I Was Your Vampire" months back on MySpace, and then hearing the new single "Heart-Shaped Glasses", I had no idea what to expect from the latest Marilyn Manson album. Four years since his last studio release, I thought "If I Was Your Vampire" was a horrible song to release to the public as your first show of "hey, check out my new material". But then I heard "Heart-Shaped Glasses" and was like "wow, Manson really has his A-game" going. So, hating one song but loving the other, how would Eat Me, Drink Me fair?

Every Manson album I feel is just a bit different from the rest. Eat Me, Drink Me though I believe is Marilyn's best album since Anti-Christ Superstar. The album is full of catchy guitar rifts – something I felt was lacking from all previous Manson albums. The choruses are very catchy as well and the lyrics are more impactful than ever – especially on "Evidence". I think the album starts out "average" or "the same old Marilyn", but progressively gets stronger and stronger.

Obviously I think this album is a must have for all Marilyn Manson fans, but I also think it is worth picking up for all music fans that are looking for something a little different (let's face it, it's Marilyn…he's different!), catchy guitar rifts, and strong lyrics. For the skeptics out there, you should at least head out to iTunes and pick up "Heart-Shaped Glasses" and "Evidence".
