As the band took the stage at 11:00, I started thinking to myself "Man, this is going to be a smash mouth, in your face type of show. I just know it." Drummer Mike Luce was teasing the crowd by repeatedly tapping his snare, just enough that you could feel your chest vibrate.  Stevie Benton dropped a deep bass line, then guitarist C.J. Pierce rocked in on guitar and the lights came on.  Right at that instant, Ryan McCombs delivered the "yeahhhhh" that would signal the beginning of the smash mouth, in your face Drowning Pool show.

Even with a cold, McCombs was amazing and didn't miss a note the entire night.  Luce and McCombs had witty banter going back-n-forth the entire night in between songs that the crowd enjoyed.  "The next time you see one of our servicemen or women at an airport, take three seconds to go up to them and shake their hand and say thank you",  was the message McCombs delivered before the band went into their new single "Soldiers". Shortly after the band played Pantera's "Cowboys From Hell", which had one of the loudest reactions of the night.  Then with McCombs again leading the charge, this time telling everyone "By the time this one is done, everyone should be able to count to four", the band broke into their mega-hit "Bodies".

After the band had left the stage for a few moments, they returned. McCombs asked the crowd the time. It was just past midnight. "Thank you, because this is officially the best birthday present I have ever had." McCombs had just turned 33-years old and the rest of the band pretended they forgot it was his birthday. On second thought, they may not have forgotten! The band continued to show some love to each other and to the crowd by joking on stage and talking to the audience. They appropriately ended the night after that with Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell", with the crowd screaming the lyrics "In the midnight hour. More, more, more." 65 minutes after initially taking the stage, Drowning Pool left the stage leaving the crowd wanting more, more, more.
