THE BEST BAR FOR A DRINK AND SHOW IN THE MIDWEST

The Rock is located in Maplewood, Minnesota, a few blocks right off of Interstate 694.

SIGHT LINES & SOUND

The Rock has the best stage set-up I have seen for a bar. The audience is directly in front of the stage, not facing the stage at an angle. There isn't a bad spot in the joint. You can be in the very back sitting at the railing in the bar and still turnaround and enjoy the show. The Rock has a fantastic patio out back with tables so you can go out and enjoy the weather or just go out and get some fresh air if you need it. The best thing is you can still hear the music out on the patio!

SECURITY & STAFF

What I love about the staff at The Rock is that they treat you like they've known you forever. Granted, I may go in there a lot and to them it might seem like they have known me forever! Nonetheless, the security staff at the door is always very cordial and smiling. The bartenders are all friendly and provide great service. The owner Brian is very hospitable and makes sure all of his guests are always happy and taken care of.

COST OF A DRINK

This is the best part of The Rock: it is almost Happy Hour all the time! I'm not joking! Tuesday night well drinks and beer are $1. Thursday night ladies drink free and there are 2-for-1's for everyone. On Friday there is a Happy Hour…gosh, come to think of it, I think besides when a national act is playing, it's almost Happy Hour at The Rock 24-7! You can't go wrong! It's the best bar to get a drink!

BATHROOMS

Nice and clean and you can tell they maintain it very
 nice. You never feel grossed out going into the bathrooms or feel like you are going to walk out nastier than you felt walking in. Two thumbs up for sure on the bathrooms.

PARKING

Free parking in front and on the side. How can you go wrong with free parking?

OVERALL

The BEST bar for a drink and for a hard rock show in the Midwest. Period. Stop by The Rock on a Tuesday or Thursday night for their amazing specials and hangout with the DJs from local hard rock station 93X and enjoy some live music! Or go to a show of a national artist brought to town by StuporDave! Or just stop in and say hi to Brian and play some darts, pool, and enjoy a cold one at the bar or outside on the patio!
